The President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj visits Saranda, meets with representatives of the local government and the community
On the second day of the tour in the south of the country, the President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj, visited Saranda, where he held a series of meetings with representatives of the local government, representatives of businesses and the community.
Firstly, President Begaj met with the Mayor of Saranda, Mr. Adrian Gurma, with whom he talked about the development and challenges of the city of Saranda. ‘It is important that there is cooperation between authorities, institutions, in order to guarantee that all citizens are heard and supported’, said President Begaj during the meeting.
The President assured the Mayor, that he would have the full support of the Head of State to address any concerns, if needed. The Prefect of Vlora District, Mr. Flamur Mamaj, as well as other representatives of the local government were present during the meeting with the Mayor.
President Begaj also visited ‘Hasan Tahsini’ high school, a prominent high school in Albania, where he met with the teaching staff, as well as the high school students. While addressing the students, the President said that: ‘The future of the country depends on you. Albania’s future is a reflection of today’s education. The destiny of our country is in your hands.’
The President also visited Saranda’s Hospital ‘Petro Nako’, where he thanked the doctors for their dedication and commitment to patients care.
During the meetings in Saranda, President Begaj also met with representatives of businesses, to get to know better all the problems in this sector, as well as with former military.
At the end of the tour in Saranda, President Begaj visited the Butrint National Park, an asset that belongs not only to Albania, but to the whole world and which makes Saranda one of the most important tourist destinations in the country.
