On Christmas Day, the President of the Republic of Albania, H.E. Mr. Bajram Begaj met with Monsignor Arjan Dodaj, Archbishop of Tirana-Durrës Archdiocese of the Catholic Church of Albania, in the capital’s Catholic Cathedral.
President Begaj expressed his best wishes for this important day for all Catholic believers: “I wish that this day brings light, hope and goodness to everyone, in these difficult times. This special day, the day of Christ’s birth, awakens hope and joy in our hearts, brings us back to human and religious values, family and faith,” the President emphasized.
President Begaj recalled the meeting with Pope Francis a few days ago in the Vatican. “Pope Francis is a great friend of Albanians, and I had the pleasure to extend an invitation to Him to visit Tirana again. His messages for a world at peace, a message that should unite all people, undoubtedly resonate across the wide world, including Albania. Yesterday’s appeal, that Pope Francis sent out to all people to do something good to restore hope, comes as a powerful message to all Christian believers and beyond,” said the President.
