President Begaj receives World Bank Representatives
The President of the Republic of Albania, H.E. Mr. Bajram Begaj met with a delegation from the World Bank, headed by Mr. Charles J. Cormier, the Regional Director for Infrastructure in Europe and Central Asia.
President Begaj appreciated the current level of cooperation and the valuable technical and financial support the World Bank has given to Albania. President Begaj noted that the loans have had a significant impact on the economic development and social transformation of the country.
President Begaj expressed his gratitude to the World Bank for the support given to Albania during COVID-19 Pandemics, through the provision of the necessary medical equipment, as well the constant support to manage natural disasters, which have often inflicted Albania. Moreover, President Begaj expressed his full support of current World Bank projects, being implemented in cooperation with Albanian institutions, such as those such those on energy efficiency and climate change adaptation and mitigation. Concluding, President Begaj expressed his thankfulness on the valuable WB advice and the expertise offered to local government units on budget planning and natural disaster prevention and management.
