A delegation from the Municipality of Presheva was received in a meeting by President Begaj
Just a few days after the closing of the general population census in the Republic of Serbia, a delegation from the Municipality of Presheva was received in a meeting by the President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj.
President Begaj appreciated the maturity with which the Albanians and the Albanian political parties of the Municipalities of Presheva, Bujanoc and Medvegja showed about the process of the general population census in the Republic of Serbia and also welcomed the high participation, especially in the first two municipalities.
Appreciating the spirit of cooperation demonstrated by all Albanian actors and political factors in the Presheva Valley, President Begaj emphasized, that this cooperation brought a more accurate and fair registration of Albanians living in this region of Serbia. ‘This serves the status of Albanians in these municipalities and factors them even more in the defense of their rights and freedoms in Serbia, which must be in full compliance with international standards and the best European practices’, underlined President Begaj.
After evaluating the new positive climate and regional cooperation as a whole, as well as the increased attention of the European Union to the Western Balkans region, the Head of State assured the delegation of the Presheva Municipality, that the Albanians of the Presheva Valley, would always find in the Albanian institutions and himself, a strong and determined supporter for the full realization of their rights.
