The President of the Republic will participate in the 78th debate of the UN General Assembly
The President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj will participate in the 78th debate of the UN General Assembly, on 17-23 September 2023.
President Begaj received today the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Albania, Mrs. Fiona McCluney, who informed President Begaj about the summit that will be organized by the Secretary General of the UN, António Guterres.
In addition, Mrs. McCluney shared with President Begaj information on the expectations of the summit, as well as on the level of participation. At the end of the debates and after dealing with the most important topics for the future of humanity and the planet, it is expected that the participating leaders will adopt a political declaration, to express the commitments in achieving the Objectives of the 2030 Agenda.
President Begaj assessed the initiative of Secretary General Guterres “Rescue Plan for People and the Planet” as very positive and timely, for the fulfillment of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and expressed the will and involvement of Albanian institutions in the realization of national commitments.
