First Lady Armanda Begaj Visits ICT Lab at “Lasgush Poradeci” Elementary School, Tirana
First Lady Armanda Begaj, along with the Minister of State for Youth and Children, Mrs. Bora Muzhaqi, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Albanian-American Development Foundation, Mr. Michael Granoff, and co-directors of AADF, Mr. Martin Mata and Mr. Aleksandër Sarapuli, visited the ICT laboratory at “Lasgush Poradeci” elementary school in Tirana.
This lab, built through the cooperation of the Albanian government and the Albanian-American Development Foundation, hosted an impressive class session with second-grade students.
Mrs. Begaj expressed gratitude to the initiators and supporters of the “ElementIT” project, which aims to foster interactivity, inclusiveness, and innovation among children.
Through the CodeMonkey coding platform, which is also very engaging, children learn how to create a series of actions (an algorithm) to achieve the goal of their game (to solve a problem). This method is an excellent way to stimulate and develop creative thinking among children, thus preparing the professionals of the future.
Mrs. Begaj shared with the guests her pleasure in seeing the children’s keen interest in learning coding language and the passionate dedication of their teachers.
Aware that Information Technology has penetrated every aspect of our lives, the implementation of this project in all schools across Albania would be warmly welcomed.
