“The women of Ukraine are the heroines of our time.
They inspire with their courage and resilience.
My thoughts and my heart are with them, alongside all Albanian women. We will continue to support and stand by them with all our strength.”
The First Lady of the Republic, Armanda Begaj, part of the President of the Republic, H. E. Mr. Bajram Begaj’s state visit, was in Lithuania exploring activities centered around the exchange of experiences regarding democratic state functions and coping with the consequences of the War in Ukraine.
Mrs. Begaj initially visited the Civil Education Center in Vilnius, which facilitates interactions between the state and citizens to enhance the level of democracy.
She then visited the Ukrainian Center in Vilnius, established with the initiation and support of the First Ladies of Lithuania, Diana Nausėdienė, and Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, in collaboration with Vytautas Magnus University.
During her visit to the Ukrainian Center, Mrs. Begaj learned about Lithuania’s efforts to support the Ukrainian community, providing opportunities through educational, psychological, and cultural initiatives to rehabilitate families displaced by the war. Like Albania, Lithuania has offered not only military but also humanitarian support to Ukraine. In this regard, Mrs. Begaj highlighted Albania’s initiatives in supporting Ukrainian families and emphasized the need for stronger collaboration among Euro-Atlantic bloc countries to end Russian aggression.
She praised the First Ladies of Lithuania and Ukraine for establishing this center, expressing appreciation and pride for all the brave mothers, sisters, and daughters of Ukraine.
Focusing on the impact of the war on children, Mrs. Begaj noted that a united response could prevail in stopping the evil. During her visit to the Ukrainian Center, Mrs. Armanda Begaj attended the exhibitions “Embroidered Shirts Born from War” and “Believe. Love. Wait”, which document the suffering of Ukrainian families.
In the guest book, the First Lady, Armanda Begaj, wrote:
