The cyber-attacks of the last few months, the level of infringement of state electronic systems and the measures taken so far and those currently being taken by the respective structures, were the subject of detailed discussions at the National Security Council Meeting.
Discussions underscored the fact that the malicious attacks, sponsored by the government of Iran, should bring together all the institutional, political and social actors, to analyse the state of electronic systems and treat the cyber security of the country’s critical infrastructure, as an essential component of our national security.
Ministers and senior representatives from responsible institutions reported on the analysis of the situation so far, the plans and measures being taken to address the deficiencies observed in infrastructure and capacities.
In particular, the support provided by the United States of America and various American agencies, which have worked and are working with our agencies, was considered valuable and essential for the identification of the cyber aggression typology and our response to it.
The National Security Council confirmed that the close international cooperation with all partner countries, NATO and the EU should continue, with the aim of increasing defensive, counteractive and preventive capacities, in order to avoid such attacks in the future.
