The President of the Republic, H.E. Mr. Bajram Begaj visits “Zëra Jete”, the special education institution in Elbasan
The President of the Republic, H.E. Mr. Bajram Begaj and the First Lady, Armanda Begaj visited today the “Zëra Jete” special education institution in Elbasan. The school is attended by 63 children of special needs. A team of 26 teachers and social workers provides support to these children in their studies and other specific programs, based on their needs and development stages.
The Head of State highlighted the importance of the fact that these children need to feel loved and contribution that every member of our society can make. “I pledge that you will have my support whenever needed. These children need and will have the support of the state in every moment”.
President Begaj noted that “even though this is a special education school, it is important to strongly insist on comprehensive education programs, to make sure no one feels forlorn and that everyone is given the opportunity to be an active part of the society. Inclusive education contributes to a society whose fundamental goal is inclusion and not exclusion”.
The President expressed his appreciation to the school teachers, who do an excellent job in educating the children there. “Continue to support them and influence their lives with a teacher’s and educator’s real passion. I commend the cooperation between the families and the school staff,” President Begaj urged them, while also praising the parents for their irreplaceable role and efforts in raising their children.
