The President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj, receives the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Romania, General Daniel Petrescu

The President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj received today in a meeting the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Romania, General Daniel Petrescu. President Begaj appreciated the cooperation between the Armed Forces of Albania and Romania as two NATO allied countries and emphasized the need to deepen cooperation at bilateral level. The Head of State focused on geopolitical developments, which have become unpredictable because of the war in Ukraine. In this context, increasing investments in the field of defense and developing capacities must be a priority. The President emphasized that Albania and Romania are part of several regional initiatives, which have fulfilled their role excellently in terms of NATO integration process, as well as in creating a climate of trust and cooperation among the Armed Forces of the countries of the region. The Head of State also focused on the developments in the region, focusing on the developments in the north of Kosovo. President Begaj praised the NATO and KFOR Mission in Kosovo as a guarantor of peace and security, as well as thanked General Petrescu for the contribution that the Armed Forces of Romania make within the KFOR mission.
