The President of the Republic, H.E. Mr. Bajram Begaj receives representatives of the Diaspora Coordinating Council
The President of the Republic, H.E. Mr. Bajram Begaj met with representatives of the Diaspora Coordinating Council (KKD) to discuss their contribution as to issues linked with the representation of the interests of the Albanians, who live abroad.
President Begaj appreciated the commitment of the KKD on the implementation of the diaspora vote in the elections in Albania and encouraged their continued, active and significant engagement in public policy development, offering their best practices and different perspectives, as something of great importance to the development of the nation.
“Guaranteeing the diaspora vote the ensures its active participation in the life of the nation and reflects its perspective, experience and views on the future steps, aiming at our country’s progress”, highlighted President Begaj.
The Head of State stated that while the diaspora is a vital part of the societies, they live in, it remains an inseparable part of the nation, it develops together with it and acts as a promoter of progress in many areas of life. Therefore, its empowerment, support and encouragement of its active participation in a nation’s policy development comes with a great benefit for that society and nation”.
President Begaj also noted that efforts to keep the native language, culture, traditions and best values, alive result in the preservation of our national identity, thus they should have our outmost encouragement and support.
