The President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj, meets with representatives of the Arbanas community of Zara (Zadar)
The President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj along with the President of the Republic of Croatia, H.E.Mr. Zoran Milanović, visited the Arbanas community of Zara (Zadar).
During the meeting, President Begaj praised the Albanian community for preserving Albanian identity, language, culture and traditions.
“Your presence here in Zadar even after more than three centuries is a common historical legacy, which has had an enormous impact in strengthening the friendly bilateral relations between the two peoples and the two countries” – President Begaj said.
“We have the common obligation to preserve and promote even more this legacy of our nation, that your forefathers brought here to Zadar” – President Begaj said.
The Head of State appreciated Croatia’s hospitality and good policies for minorities, underlining that Albanians, both from the Arbanas community or those who arrived in recent decades, are worthily represented in the fields of art, sports and even politically in the country’s parliament.
