The President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj and the First Lady visit the Care Home for Elderly ‘Sefer Dervishi’, in Kavaja
The President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj and the First Lady, Armanda Begaj visited today the Care Home for Elderly ‘Sefer Dervishi’, in Kavaja.
61 elderly people live in this institution and a staff of 21 employees, including doctors, nurses, psychologists and social workers help an take care of them.
President Begaj said, that the visit to this care home for elderly, like a large family on the eve of the holidays, has the purpose to talk to them, to listen to their concerns and to express the predisposition to support them.
‘For years and decades, you have given to Albania and our society so much. You have given the example that caring for others, especially for the ones in need, is the responsibility of every society and community. Now, it is the moment that the society returns to you this contribution, through quality health services and the support of institutions’, said President Begaj.
The Head of State expressed sincere congratulations to the employees of the center, not only for the dedication shown during the pandemic – a difficult challenge, especially for the elderly – but for the devotion they show every day, for the professionalism and humanity they reflect.
‘I understand that the infrastructure of this care home needs improvement, heating and all the conditions that facilitate life must be guaranteed. No one should feel alone, nor forgotten, solidarity is a precious virtue of a society’, said President Begaj.
