He visited the Catholic Cathedral of “Saint Paul” in Tirana, where he was welcomed by His Excellency Arjan Dodaj, the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Tirana-Durrës of the Catholic Church in Albania.
Today, President Begaj also visited the Orthodox Cathedral in Tirana, “The Resurrection of Christ,” where he was received by His Beatitude Anastas Janullatos, the Archbishop of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania.
The President shared excerpts from his meetings with Christian clergy on his official Facebook profile.
“Christmas,” said the President, “is an inspiring holiday that brings hope.”
“Among other things, President Begaj said, it makes us reflect and think with more love about those who are in need, sick, or lonely. Let’s be there for them!”
The President also emphasized that “Christmas brings hope for a life filled with kindness and prosperity.”
President Begaj wished that it would bring to every Albanian family: “days full of health, betterment, and blessings!”
The President of the Republic appealed for reflection on the world’s war zones, inviting Albanians to pray for peace, prosperity, and well-being for our nation: “Certainly, today is a day of reflection because there are many events in the world today that sadden us, and we must reflect this Christmas Day to pray for more peace, prosperity, and well-being for our entire nation.”
