Today, President Bajram Begaj visited the Municipality of Skrapar, where he engaged in discussions with local authorities and residents about opportunities for further development of the area.
Along with this valuable asset, President Begaj emphasized that investments in infrastructure, food safety, and health security will aid in boosting tourism in the area. He advised local authorities to focus on further development, especially mountain tourism.
“I believe with the new trend in mountain tourism, visitors will come from the sea to the mountains to experience the nature and magic of places like Skrapar. I am confident that the mountain package, now being developed for tourism, will include Skrapar,” said the President, highlighting that initiatives like these will allow municipalities to breathe more freely and maintain high-quality tourism capacities.
President Begaj expressed his conviction that the right investments, such as 24-hour water supply and improvements in road infrastructure, already underway or in process, will undoubtedly revitalize the area.
He also left a message for the Municipality of Skrapar to increase their care for the elderly. During a meeting with a group of elderly citizens, the President emphasized the importance of health services and the revitalization of the library, and the creation of tax facilities for café-bookstores.
At the invitation of Mayor Adriatik Mema, President Begaj also visited the traditional fair of Skrapar, where dozens of farmers and breeders showcased seasonal products, winter provisions, and rakia produced in the traditional old ways of Skrapar, especially renowned for its quality.
President Begaj noted that festivals like these serve as local celebrations but also as a catalyst for increasing visitors, declaring it the duty of every institution, local or governmental, to support agriculture and livestock farming with facilitating policies so that the efforts of the residents are rewarded.
