President Begaj Wishes Citizens a Happy Summer Day
President Bajram Begaj of the Republic extended warm wishes to the citizens today for Summer Day, a traditional festival with ancient origins in Elbasan, marking the arrival of spring.
The President’s greeting on his official Facebook profile was accompanied by a photo of an Elbasan basket filled with symbolic elements of Summer Day: “ballakumen” (a traditional sweet), flowers, and an olive branch, all representing the hope for a joyful, prosperous, and bountiful season.
“Happy Summer Day with this basket prepared by the cooks of Elbasan, the Albanian capital of celebrating this day!” President Begaj greeted.
