The President of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Bajram Begaj, held an online meeting today with members of the Armed Forces serving in missions and operations around the world alongside NATO, the UN, and the European Union.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Arben Kingji, was also present.
President Begaj extended his best wishes for the new year to the military personnel and commended them for their professionalism, dedication and commitment to accomplish their mission and contribute to global peace and security.
He praised the military for elevating the reputation of Albania and the Albanian people.
“Thanks to your efforts,” President Begaj stated, “our country is considered a very important ally of NATO, and the request for increased Albanian contribution to the Alliance signifies recognition of the professionalism of our Armed Forces.
The President expressed his utmost support to the military, calling them “the greatest contribution of Albanians to the world.”
Also present in this conversation with the President were representatives of the Armed Forces serving in Kosova, Bosnie-Hertzagovina, Bulgaria, Latvia, Iraq, Sinai, South Sudan, and the Aegean Sea.
The latter engaged in the online discussion with the President while on a patrol mission in the Aegean Sea waters.
They conveyed to President Begaj updates about their engagement in the missions they serve, reported successful completion of assigned tasks, and exchanged new year greetings.
