President Begaj Extends Greetings to Muslim Faithful on Eid al-Fitr
Today, President Bajram Begaj extended his wishes to the Muslim faithful for Eid al-Fitr, a celebration marking the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan. He conveyed special messages to the clerics during his visits to the Muslim and Bektashi community institutions in Tirana.
President Begaj began his visits at the Great Mosque of Tirana, where he was welcomed by the Imam of the capital, Bilal Teqja.
The President expressed that the opening of the mosque’s doors fulfilled the long-standing request of the faithful, for whom this was the first Ramadan with the Great Mosque, which also attracts numerous tourists, as noted by the Imam of Tirana.
The President emphasized the importance of unity among the believers and all Albanians, along with the wish that the devotion shown during this month continues until the next Ramadan. Accompanied by the Imam of Tirana, the President walked to the headquarters of the Albanian Muslim Community, where he was received by Chairman Bujar Spahiu, to whom he extended Eid al-Fitr greetings, stating:
“Happy Eid al-Fitr! May this auspicious day be one of solidarity, a day of kindness for all Albanians.
Let the words of the Holy Quran and the wise Prophet Muhammad serve as an inspiration for every Albanian, for every believer, to act in daily life as examples of solidarity, extending a helping hand to each other, assisting needy families, and uniting in service to our great interest, in service to the interest of civic harmony and interfaith dialogue,” emphasized the Head of State.
This Eid al-Fitr, President Begaj also extended his wishes to the Bektashi faithful. He visited the headquarters of the World Bektashi Headquarters, where he was received by Haxhi Dede Baba Edmond Brahimaj, from where he delivered messages on the moral values that keep a society away from the lure of materialism.
