President Begaj Meets in Prishtina with Mr. William Walker, Former OSCE Ambassador During the Kosova War
The President of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Bajram Begaj, held a special meeting in Prishtina with Mr. William Walker, former OSCE Ambassador during the Kosova war. Mr. Walker is in Kosova to celebrate with the Albanians the 25th anniversary of the country’s liberation.
President Begaj commended Ambassador Walker for the pivotal role he played during his service in Kosova, bringing global attention to the inhumane massacre of civilians in Reçak on January 15, 1999.
The President expressed gratitude and thanks for the mission of the then-head of the OSCE Verification Mission, William Walker, who, after witnessing the bodies of slain Albanians, described the massacre as “an indescribable atrocity.”
“It was your statement on the evidence of genocide that marked a turning point in Kosova,” President Begaj stated during his conversation with Mr. William Walker.
