During his stay in Warsaw, the President of the Republic of Albania, Mr. Bajram Begaj, held special meetings with the leaders of both chambers of the Polish legislature. President Begaj was initially received by the Speaker of the Parliament, Mr. Szymon Hołownia, and subsequently by the President of the Senate, Ms. Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska.
The discussions focused on the relations between Albania and Poland, which are highly regarded at an excellent political level, as well as on the need to unite in facing the challenges of our times, which both countries that share common European values confront.
The President of the Republic expressed his conviction for strengthening the cooperation between the two countries.
Regarding Poland’s support for Albania’s EU integration, President Begaj emphasized his hope for acceleration and encouragement of this process when Poland assumes the Presidency of the European Council at the beginning of 2025.
The Head of State appreciated Poland’s early recognition of the state of Kosovo and requested the full establishment of diplomatic relations in the near future.
President Bajram Begaj also held a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw, honoring the memorial with a floral tribute.
