President Begaj Meets with the Speaker of the Parliament of North Macedonia, Mr. Afrim Gashi
President Bajram Begaj of the Republic of Albania held a meeting today in Shkup with the Speaker of the Parliament of North Macedonia, Mr. Afrim Gashi.
President Begaj congratulated Mr. Gashi on successfully fulfilling his duties as the new Speaker, and appreciated the representation of Albanians at the top of North Macedonia’s governing institutions.
During the conversation, the importance of learning from the past and the need to avoid repeating mistakes were emphasized.
“As public officials, we must be careful not to repeat the errors of the past and to work towards a better present and future,” President Begaj stated.
He also mentioned that it is our duty to leave a regional legacy for the younger generations, built on bridges of friendship that, unlike in the past where bridges were more often destroyed, are now being built high.
The cooperation between the two countries was described as excellent, while also noting areas that could still be improved. “We need to work together as Albanians, as Macedonians, and as citizens of this region,” President Begaj highlighted, underscoring the commitment to expand this collaboration.
President Begaj expressed his confidence in further strengthening relations and continuing joint projects, aiming for the path of cooperation to expand from two lanes to four.
