President Bajram Begaj of the Republic of Albania, during his stay in Shkup, held a meeting today with the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi.
During this meeting, President Begaj congratulated Mr. Xhaferi on fulfilling his constitutional duties and the success achieved in conducting the recent elections in North Macedonia, which met all democratic standards as fair and undisputed.
President Begaj appreciated the commitment and decisive role of the Albanian community in the state-building processes in North Macedonia, emphasizing that inter-state and inter-community cooperation is key to success and regional stability.
President Begaj described the relations between Albania and North Macedonia as excellent at the political level and proposed expanding them into other areas of mutual interest, such as in economics, trade exchanges, cultural interactions, the energy sector, and tourism.
The President of Albania stressed the importance of working hard to advance the projects initiated in these areas.
Additionally, President Begaj valued the cooperation between the two countries in regional and international organizations.
The foreign and security policies of Albania and North Macedonia are aligned with those of the European Union, noted President Begaj.
He expressed confidence that this approach would continue towards finalizing the joint path of both countries, including their membership in the EU.
