President Begaj Expresses Condolences on the Passing of the Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania

President Bajram Begaj expressed his condolences on the loss of the Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania.

“Albania today mourns the loss of His Beatitude, the Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës, and All Albania, Prof. Dr. Anastasios, the spiritual leader and distinguished figure of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Albania.

Under his leadership, His Beatitude guided the Church with wisdom, dedication, and love for the people, contributing to its strengthening and paving a new path for the Albanian Orthodox faith, especially following a challenging period. He was a tireless example of spiritual commitment and a beacon for all who followed him.

In this time of sorrow, we extend our deepest condolences to the Church and all believers who have lost their father and leader, a beloved and revered figure. The legacy of His Beatitude will forever live in the hearts of those who respected and loved him.

We pray that God grants him rest in the tents of the righteous and may his memory be eternal!” – wrote the President on his Facebook account.
