President Begaj Expresses Condolences for the Passing of President James Earl Carter Jr., who served as President of the United States from 1977 to 1981

President of the Republic, H.E. Bajram Begaj, today expressed condolences for the passing of President James Earl Carter Jr., who served as President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. President Begaj signed the Book of Condolences opened at the United States Embassy in Tirana.

President Begaj recognized President Carter as a leader who devoted his life to freedom, justice, and peace among people, teaching the world the importance of these causes and respect for these principles.

“In memory of James Earl Carter Jr., the 39th President of the United States of America, a leader who remained true to democratic principles.

He will be remembered in international politics as a champion in service to humanity, a Nobel Peace Prize laureate who dedicated decades to pursuing peaceful resolutions, advancing democracy, and human rights.

Humanity has learned from him how to live in peace and to reject war not as a ‘necessary evil,’ but to strive for a free and just society,” wrote President Begaj in the Condolence Book for President Carter at the United States Embassy in Tirana.
