President Begaj Named “Honorary Citizen” of the Arbëresh in Calabria
Today, the President of Albania, Mr. Bajram Begaj, was granted the title of “Honorary Citizen” by the Arbëresh community in Calabria. This honor was bestowed by the municipality of Pallagorio, in the Province of Crotone. Led by Mayor Umberto Lorecchio, the municipal council unanimously decided to honor President Begaj with this title from Pallagorio.
President Begaj expressed his deepest gratitude, emphasizing his great appreciation for their respect and recognition. “I assure you”, President Begaj stated, “that I will continue my commitment and that of the institution I lead to further develop the relationship between the Arbëresh and Albanians”.
The President regarded today’s honor from the Arbëresh of Pallagorio as “one of those moments in life that deeply marks you, leaving indelible impressions, but also represents a responsibility and commitment to continue initiatives for Arbëria”.
