President Begaj Received with Special Honors by Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker
President Bajram Begaj of the Republic of Albania was accorded special honors by the Austrian Chancellor, Dr. Christian Stocker. The Head of State conveyed his gratitude to Chancellor Stocker for Austria’s support during pivotal moments in Albania’s history, highlighting Austria’s essential role and unwavering political support in Albania’s European integration journey.
“The Albania-Austria partnership is based on shared values of democracy, peace, and stability. These principles unite us, and we are committed to working together to address regional and global challenges and to promote a sustainable and long-term relationship,” President Begaj evaluated.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment to not only maintain strong political relations but also to enhance economic cooperation.
“We express gratitude for the significant role played by early Austrian capital investments in our economy,” stated the Head of State, who also highlighted the Austrian government’s support in reforming vocational education and the justice system, economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, and Austrian investments in Albania.
The meeting also appreciated the strengthening of economic cooperation, investments, and trade links between Austria and Albania. The Austrian government has been one of the most important donors supporting the reform of the education and vocational training system in our country over the years. President Begaj emphasized that Albania is keen to deepen cooperation in the field of higher education and professional training. “Albania is also interested in attracting more Austrian direct investments in various sectors, including energy, oil, tourism, transportation, infrastructure, agriculture, information and communication technology, and others,” President Begaj underlined.
The President of the Republic expressed that Albania offers an attractive investment climate and that there is potential to exploit in economic relations between the two countries, primarily in tourism, where Albania is experiencing very positive development.
