President Begaj Meets with the Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Tirana, Ms. Nancy Van Horn
President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Bajram Begaj, today welcomed the new Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Tirana, Ms. Nancy Van Horn. The Head of State congratulated the American diplomat on the commencement of her duties, expressing confidence that during her tenure, the strategic partnership with the United States of America would be further strengthened.
President Begaj reaffirmed Albania’s commitment and growing contribution to this strategic partnership, expressing gratitude towards the United States for its generous and decisive support for our country.
The President also emphasized that U.S. support enhances Albania’s commitment to democratic reforms and the rule of law, efforts that are consistent with the ultimate goal of European Union membership.
Regarding the regional situation, President Begaj noted that Albania appreciates the engagement of the American administration, highlighting that the role of the United States in the Western Balkans remains crucial.
The meeting also recognized Albania’s role in regional stability and development, its commitment to international peace and security missions, and its stance against efforts that threaten peace through the escalation of conflicts.
