President Begaj Meets with Monsignor Maurizio Aloise, Bishop of Rossano-Cariati in Calabria
President Bajram Begaj of the Republic of Albania today welcomed Monsignor Maurizio Aloise, Bishop of Rossano-Cariati in Calabria.
The President warmly greeted Monsignor Aloise and expressed his gratitude for the warm reception provided by him and the Arbëresh community of Calabria during his official visit in May of this year.
During the conversation, they discussed key issues concerning the closer ties between Calabria and Albania, as well as recognizing and promoting the unique heritage of the Arbëresh people.
Accompanying the Bishop of Rossano-Cariati were leaders and experts from the Diocesan Museum of Codices, as well as Catholic clerics from the city of Berat.
President Begaj commended the exceptional care shown in preserving unique works in Calabria’s first diocesan museum and their joint effort to showcase the historical testimony of the Arbëresh community to the world.
