President Begaj Welcomes OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of Malta, Ian Borg
President Bajram Begaj of Albania today welcomed Ian Borg, the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of Malta.
The focus of this meeting was on Albania’s cooperation with the OSCE and Malta. President Begaj highlighted that the OSCE and its presence in Albania have been reliable partners for the last 27 years, supporting significant reforms in the country on its path toward European Union membership.
President Begaj expressed his appreciation for the OSCE’s contribution to advancing electoral reform, strengthening the rule of law, the justice system, and the fight against corruption.
“Albania will continue to support human rights and democratic values,” President Begaj emphasized.
Regarding the relations between Albania and Malta, President Begaj reaffirmed the desire to further strengthen this cooperation through increased contacts and the expansion of economic exchanges, particularly in tourism, while expressing gratitude for Malta’s ongoing support in the European integration process.
