Today, President of the Republic, H.E. Mr. Bajram Begaj, accepted the credential letters from the new Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Albania, H. E. Mr. Pavel Vacek.
President Begaj welcomed the new Czech Ambassador to Tirana and praised the excellent relations between the two countries. He expressed his appreciation for the Czech Republic’s steadfast support for Albania’s EU perspective.
Furthermore, the President noted that intensifying relations would elevate cooperation between the two nations to a higher level. President Begaj urged Ambassador Vacek to promote the continuation of cooperation in areas where there is already a strong tradition, such as internal affairs. In this context, he particularly appreciated the Czech Republic’s engagement in the FRONTEX mission in Albania, support for the Road Police, and the modernization of the Forensic Police Institute.
“We are ready,” stated President Begaj, “to further strengthen our economic relations with mutual interests, as well as in education and culture, where there still are many unexplored opportunities.”
President Begaj used this initial meeting with Ambassador Vacek to thank the Czech Republic for making the decision to liberalize visas for Kosova citizens during its EU presidency, and for the Czech government’s good will in elevating its diplomatic representation in Kosova to ambassadorial level.
