President Begaj Commemorates the Historic Event of March 2, 1444, the League of Lezhë, and Its Leader, Our National Hero, Gjergj Kastrioti
President Bajram Begaj today commemorated the historic event of March 2, 1444, the League of Lezhë, and its leader, our national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti, reminding all Albanians that the historical message of the Assembly of Lezhë, “Unity makes strength,” has never lost its significance.
“581 years ago, under the leadership of Gjergj Kastrioti, the Assembly of Lezhë was held, marking the creation of a powerful political and military alliance to resist invasion and protect the lands of our ancestors. The historic message from the Assembly of Lezhë, ‘Unity makes strength,’ has never lost its value and importance. Albania becomes stronger, safer, and more prosperous through the contributions of each individual, from the union of the positive energies of all Albanians, wherever they are,” – wrote President Begaj on his Facebook account.
