The President of the Republic, H.E. Mr. Bajram Begaj, today visited the RFA “Argus”, a military vessel of the United Kingdom’s Royal Navy, currently located in Albanian waters near Durrës.
This visit is part of the strong cooperation and close friendship between the United Kingdom and Albania, and as fellow NATO member countries.
Albania celebrates its 15th anniversary of NATO membership this year, and over this period, through joint exercises and participation in missions, has proven to be a worthy member of the Alliance.
President Begaj was accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania, Major General Arben Kingji, and the British Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Alastair King-Smith.
On board the ship, the President was received by the Commander and the crew.
President Begaj thanked the ship’s Commander for visiting Albania, expressing that their presence in the region is significant at a time when security has been shaken following Russian aggression in Ukraine.
Additionally, President Begaj appreciated the armed forces of the Royal Navy, who serve not only their country but also the security, peace, and stability of the region, Europe, and beyond.
During his visit to the British naval vessel, President Begaj closely observed its services and capabilities.
