Today, on International Day of Older Persons, President of the Republic, H.E. Mr. Bajram Begaj, hosted a meeting with a group of pensioners who have made significant contributions across various professions in Albania.
President Begaj emphasized the importance of such a meeting on this symbolic day to reflect on ensuring a dignified life for the elderly.
“Each of you has achieved milestones in your profession and has contributed to the development of the country, thus deserving recognition,” stressed President Begaj, who expressed his gratitude for their service in fields such as defense, economics, healthcare, law, and agriculture.
During the conversation, opinions were exchanged not only about the treatment of the elderly but also about the development of crucial sectors of the country, where attendees offered ideas based on their professional expertise.
President Begaj listened to the concerns of the elderly, committing to continue his efforts to ensure their voices are heard and they are respected for the knowledge they can offer the younger generations.
Referring to the intensive care provided to the elderly during the COVID-19 pandemic in Albania, President Begaj stated that such care should be an everyday commitment.
The head of state expressed that the contributions of the elderly in Albania are invaluable, and they should be respected and honored to live with dignity, just as they have worked.
