President Begaj Receives the 2023 European Commission Progress Report for Albania
The President of the Republic of Albania, His Excellency Mr. Bajram Begaj, today received the Chargé d’Affaires of the European Union Delegation to Tirana, Mr. Luigi Soreca, who presented the European Commission’s 2023 Progress Report for Albania.
President Begaj appreciated the balanced and encouraging conclusions of the 2023 Commission Report for Albania and the New Enlargement Strategy for the Western Balkans.
The Head of State also acknowledged the European Commission’s recognition of the progress made in Albania’s reform processes, particularly in justice reform, and the fight against corruption and organized crime. President Begaj reaffirmed his unwavering support for the Albanian institutions in meeting their priorities.
President Begaj stated: “Albania is also committed to establishing a functional economy that can facilitate the full integration of our country into the EU’s single market. We deeply value the European Commission’s efforts to accelerate economic integration through the New Enlargement Strategy for the Western Balkans.”
“As the President of Albania, I wish to assure all our citizens and international partners that I will continue to be committed to advancing the European integration process, which remains our main national objective,” expressed President Begaj.
