President Begaj Opens the Institution’s Doors to Teachers Who Have Contributed Across Generations on March 7

President Bajram Begaj hosted a special reception today in honor of retired teachers who have served in various regions of Albania throughout the years.

On this occasion, President Begaj extended his best wishes for March 7, expressing gratitude and appreciation for the effort, dedication, and contribution that Albanian teachers have made in educating and inspiring generations to pursue their dreams.

The President recalled the difficulties and sacrifices of these educators over the years, thanking them on behalf of all students for fulfilling their noble mission with patience, love, and commitment.

President Begaj noted, “March 7 reminds us of the great sacrifices we have had to make over the centuries to consolidate educational institutions and educate generations in the beautiful Albanian language.” He described this day as a continual reminder of the undeniable impact that teachers have on everyone’s life, in society, and on the future of generations.

IMG 4050Referring to today’s realities and technological changes, the President saw this as a new opportunity for learning but stressed that nothing can replace the human interaction between student and teacher: “A computer can provide information, but it cannot teach life values, civic responsibility, or community living. An algorithm can analyze data, but it cannot inspire a child to dream. The teacher remains and will always be the key factor in education. They are the bridge between knowledge and character development, the guide for the proper use of modern technology, and a catalyst for personal development and inspiration to change the world.”

Facing new challenges in society, President Begaj highlighted that the teacher remains a role model, despite the great challenge of being in this profession today, as children grow up in a world with abundant information sources, including fake news, and the influence of social media.

“Albania needs teachers who do not just assign grades but who foster knowledge, dreams, and help build a society with critical thinking and strong democratic values and patriotism. We need to be a nation that reads, a nation that studies, a nation that advances with the power of intellect and a thirst for knowledge. In this battle, teachers are on the front line. We cannot have a strong Albania without quality education, and we cannot have quality education without valued, supported, well-treated, and well-trained teachers. If we want a better future, we must start with those who contribute to the educated citizens of tomorrow: the teachers,” the President concluded, extending his wishes to the teachers for March 7.
