On Ukraine’s Independence Day, the President of the Republic, H.E. Mr. Bajram Begaj, sent a congratulatory telegram to the President of Ukraine, H.E. Mr Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“Dear Mr. President!
The celebration of Ukraine’s Independence Day gives me the opportunity and pleasure, that on my behalf and that of the Albanian people to convey to You and the friendly people of Ukraine, the best and most heartfelt congratulations.
Allow me to seize this opportunity to express my pleasure for the friendly relations between our two countries, which this year celebrate their 30th anniversary, but also to appreciate the sincere connection between our two peoples, also thanks to the early Albanian diaspora in Ukraine. On this 30th anniversary, Albania has decided to increase the level of its diplomatic presence in Kiev, as a sign of our will and desire to be as close as possible to Ukraine and to further intensify our cooperation.
I seize this opportunity to reiterate Albania’s clear and steadfast position in defense of the territorial integrity, sovereignty, and independence of Ukraine. As we share common Euro-Atlantic values and interests, I assure you that Albania will continue to contribute to the Security Council and the General Assembly of the United Nations, as well as with diplomatic and military support.
Along with the best wishes, please accept Mr. President, the assurances of my utmost respect and consideration on this memorable day for Your country.”
