The President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj, along with the President of North Macedonia, H.E.Mr. Stevo Pendarovski, visited Pustec.
The two Presidents, accompanied by the First Ladies and the authorities of the Municipality of Pustec and the District of Korça, carried out a series of activities.
During their stay in Pustec, the Presidents also had a bilateral meeting, focused on the very good relations between the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, President Begaj said in a press statement: “It is my pleasure to welcome the President of North Macedonia, my friend Pendarovski, along with the First Lady on this visit to the Municipality of Pustec.
It was not without cause that we chose the Municipality of Pustec, to show that the relations between our two countries are the relations of two friendly countries. two NATO partner countries, countries that have a common journey for membership in the European Union”.
The Head of State underlined in his remark that: “The Albanians in North Macedonia and the Macedonian minority in the Municipality of Pustec are important in the relationship between the two countries. Albanians in North Macedonia are very well integrated, they have contributed to the state formation of North Macedonia, and they are undoubtedly active in political and economic life.”
According to President Begaj, the challenges between the two countries are major, so they must be faced together.
For the Head of State, this visit will serve to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
When asked about the Open Balkans, President Begaj said that: “Undoubtedly, like any other regional initiative, they are good. Political executive decision-makers think about continuing an initiative or not”.
