The President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj, received the Credential Letters of the new Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Mfawa Omini Abam, resident in Rome.
President Begaj appreciated the common interest to promote and enliven the relations between the two countries, especially in the field of economy and trade exchanges expressing the belief, that the accreditation of the Ambassador of Nigeria to Albania will give a new impetus in this direction.
Whereas, referring to the fact that both countries are rich in natural resources, President Begaj underlined that together we must do more to identify and promote cooperation in certain areas of mutual interest, including the possibility of mutual investments.
The Head of State also appreciated the contribution of both countries to peace and security and the fight against terrorism, not only in the regions where they belong, but also at the international level, particularly highlighting the role that Albania is playing in the United Nations Security Council, as a non-permanent member.
