President Begaj receives the credential letters of the new Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana, Francisca Ashietey-Adunton
The President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj, received the credential letters of the new Ambassador of the Republic of Ghana, Mrs. Francisca Ashietey-Adunton, resident in Ankara.
After wishing her success in fulfilling her diplomatic mission in Albania, President Begaj underlined the need to identify and promote relations between the two countries, in all areas of mutual interest. “Despite the geographical distance, but also the interests and regional priorities, both countries have numerous opportunities for cooperation, which should be explored as best as possible”, the Head of State said.
President Begaj appreciated the very good cooperation between the two countries as non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, especially in addressing the hottest issues, such as Russian military aggression in Ukraine, but also other issues related to peace and security on the African continent.
The Head of State also appreciated the recognition of Kosovo by the Republic of Ghana, considering it as a diplomatic action, that constitutes an important contribution to peace and stability in the Western Balkans region, but not only.
