President Begaj receives the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Italy, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone
The President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj, received today the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Italy, Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone.
President Begaj appreciated the excellent cooperation in the field of defense between Albanian and Italian Armed Forces, as well as thanked Admiral Dragone for the contribution of Italy to the transformation and modernization of our Armed Forces.
President Begaj appreciated the role and contribution of Italian Armed Forces in NATO missions and operations.
The spirit of friendship and cooperation between our Armed Forces has been consolidated thanks to the joint participation in NATO missions in Afghanistan or in current missions in Kosovo and Bulgaria.
President Begaj discussed with Admiral Dragone the developments in the region, as well as appreciated Italy’s competent, professional, and impartial management of KFOR mission.
President Begaj emphasized that in this challenging time, it is important to strengthen cooperation, both within NATO and in bilateral and regional level.
