President Begaj receives Austria-Albania Friendship Association Chairman, Ambassador Arno Riedel and other members of the Association
The President of the Republic of Albania, H.E. Mr. Bajram Begaj received today the Chairman of the Austria-Albania Friendship Association, Mr. Arno Riedel, accompanied by the Ambassador of Austria in Albania, H.E. Mr. Christian Steiner, as well as other members of the Friendship Association, who are in Albania to attend social-cultural activities, organized by the Austria-Albania Friendship Association.
During the meeting, President Begaj highlighted the excellent, historical and traditionally friendly relations between Albania and Austria, as well as expressed his deep gratitude for the Austrian great support and excellent advocacy of Albania’s EU integration objectives in the past decades.
In particular, President Begaj appreciated the contribution made by the Austria-Albania Friendship Association in its 26 years of existence, as well as the personal contribution of its three leaders over the years, especially in the field of education, the aid given to children and families in need, and assistance to vulnerable groups in remote mountainous areas.
The Head of State affirmed his belief that the Association will continue to play an important and essential role in further strengthening human, cultural and economic relations between Austria and Albania.
