President Begaj received the new Head of OSCE Presence in Albania, Ambassador Guido De Sanctis
The President of the Republic of Albania, H.E. Mr. Bajram Begaj, met today with the new Head of OSCE Presence in Albania, Ambassador Guido De Sanctis.
President Begaj congratulated Ambassador De Sanctis on starting his mandate and appreciated the contribution that the OSCE Presence in Albania, has given in several significant areas, during the past 25 years in our country.
Highlighting the progress achieved during this time span, as well as the gradual re-evaluation of the focus of activities, President Begaj noted that the OSCE Presence in Albania is an important partner to our country.
Preparations for the upcoming elections of 14 May 2023 were, also, another focus of the discussion. President Begaj underscored the importance of fair campaigns and a clearly expressed will by all political parties and candidates, to compete in full respect of relevant legal provisions.
Referring to other organizations and actors, involved in supporting electoral preparations and monitoring elections, President Begaj appraised their role as indispensable in guaranteeing free and fair elections.
