The President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj received today in a meeting, the Deputy Speaker of the Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Muhammad Hidayat Nur Wahid.
President Begaj greeted the contribution that Indonesia is making in the international arena, as the holder for the first time of the G20 Presidency during this year, and appreciated the role in drafting the agenda of this forum for coping with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as economic and food security consequences on a global level, after the Russian aggression in Ukraine.
Focusing on bilateral relations, the President of the Republic highlighted the desire and willingness of the Albanian institutions to further promote these relations, as well as underlined the important role that the parliaments of both countries can play in promoting further political, economic, commercial and cultural exchanges, despite the great geographical distance.
President Begaj appreciated the good cooperation and coordination within the UN and while requesting the support of the Consultative Assembly for the review of Indonesia’s position and the recognition of Kosovo’s independence, underlined that in this way, a great service would be rendered to the consolidation of peace in the Western Balkans region.
