The close cooperation between Albania and the World Health Organization has been very important over the years for the design and implementation of effective health policies, while it was an added value in coping with the consequences of the pandemic caused by Covid-19.
The President of the Republic received in a meeting today, the Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr. Hans Henry P. Kluge.
Appreciating the role of the WHO office in Tirana, President Begaj underlined that Albania and the Albanian institutions are committed to building a health policy in accordance with the Organization’s principles and values.
The Head of State also underlined the need for a better and intensive coordination, in order to implement relevant reforms for a better and accessible health system throughout the country and for all age groups.
On his side, Director Kluge, appreciating Albania’s contribution and its commitment within the framework of multilateralism, informed President Begaj on the Organization’s projects and plans, for a more effective health system for everyone, where close cooperation with the countries of the Western Balkans remains a special focus.
