President Begaj participates in the reception for the 247th anniversary of U.S. Independence organized by the U.S. Embassy

The President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj, participated in the reception on the occasion of the 247th anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America, organized by the U.S. Embassy in Tirana. During his remarks on this occasion, President Begaj expressed his gratitude for the historic contribution of the United States in support of the Albanian nation.

“The American commitment to Albania’s Euro-Atlantic integration and strengthening of the rule of law and democracy remain decisive for today and for the future of our country. This commitment forces us to live up to investment and expectations, and we are clear about the path we still need to take in this direction,” President Begaj said, among other things.

The Head of State once again expressed his readiness to further strengthen and intensify relations between the two countries in all fields, especially the economic ones, as well as in dealing with challenges that are both national and regional, as well as global.

“Let me underline that we recognize the decisive role that the United States have for peace in the Balkans and especially for the free, independent and internationally recognized Kosovo. We appreciate it, and we don’t forget. In this sense, we are close to the United States as our strategic partner, but also with the will and dedication for the prosperity of our two peoples,” President Begaj said.

At the end of his remarks, the President expressed his special thanks to Ambassador Yuri Kim, who is ending her diplomatic mission in Albania, for the valuable contribution to our country and the friendship she has shown towards Albania. “I wish you much success in the important task that awaits you. I believe you already know, but I would like to remind you that we Albanians say: The house belongs to God and friend! I hope you find time after the end of the mission in Albania, to remember the nature, friends and why not our politics and institutions, but above all, to come home.” – the President concluded his remarks, once again congratulating the United States on Independence Day.
