President Begaj congratulates Muslim believers on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr
On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the President of the Republic, H.E.Mr. Bajram Begaj was in the city of Kavaja, where he congratulated all Muslim believers from the “Kubeli” mosque.
“I wish all Muslim believers and all Albanians wherever they live and work, Happy Eid al-Fitr! I wish from the bottom of my heart that the fasting of the month of Ramadan has fulfilled the purpose of expressing the devotion of believers through sacrifice!
I hope the sacrifice in the name of faith will be an impetus for us, to do good deeds, for the family, for the society and for the nation” – the President said in a press statement.
The Head of State stated further that: “In fact, the feast of Eid al-Fitr has a special characteristic, solidarity and love. Love for each other, love for God. Today in Kavaja I found myself, I met old and new friends of different religious beliefs, and where better than in Kavaja, this religious harmony is shown. Religious coexistence and harmony for our entire nation is an extraordinary value, a value that must be preserved, promoted and why not exported.
Let’s export the best value. The Albanian people have shown by their deeds that they support diversity. We have welcomed Afghan refugees, we have welcomed Ukrainian refugees, we have opened our doors on difficult days, so on this day let me call your attention to help those who are unable to care for themselves, those who are most in need” – President Begaj said, closing his remarks by wishing Albanians for goodness in their lives.
Earlier, President Begaj met with the mufti of Kavaja, Besnik Lečin. The President chose to visit Kavaja on this holy day for Muslim believers, as a city with a consolidated tradition of faith and religious harmony
Kavaja is a city that believed and celebrated in complete harmony, even during the regime.
