“Pink October” – the month of solidarity and awareness about breast cancer
The President of the Republic, H. E. Mr. Bajram Begaj and the First Lady support efforts to raise awareness about breast cancer, within the framework of the inclusiveness of institutional actors and society, for this matter of vital importance.
The First Lady, Armanda Begaj addresses an awareness message to all Albanian women, their families and society.
Below is the First Lady’s full message:
Strong women aren’t simply born, they are made by the storms they walk through.
The international campaign ‘Pink October’ is an awareness and solidarity initiative for all women, especially for those facing the great challenge of fighting against breast cancer.
I wholeheartedly join this initiative, to live October as the month of solidarity and awareness about breast cancer, because there is more and more room for optimism, because more and more women have defeated breast cancer through screening, periodic control and early detection of this serious enemy.
Therefore, in this month but not only, let’s invite each other, our relatives and friends, to be close to mothers, wives, sisters, daughters and friends, to talk about the great importance of information, education and prevention. Let’s be by their side with support, encouragement, optimism and positive energy.
Because a healthy woman means a happy family and a happy family means a healthy society!
