President Begaj’s message for the start of the 2023-2024 academic year in higher education
Dear students,I wish to extend my warmest greetings to all students who today will begin the new academic year 2023-2024!For you, dear students sitting in the lecture halls for the first time, today marks the beginning of a significant change: “Your first day of college classes.”As a former student, I still vividly recall my first day, filled with emotions, curiosity, and uncertainty. Thus, I deeply understand your feelings and emotions.I also truly understand those of you nearing the completion of your degrees, contemplating what to do after university. One thing is for sure, your professional decisions will shape our mutual future. I hope and strongly believe that this will be the future you desire. Meanwhile, seize the golden opportunity educate and dedicate yourselves to your academic studies.Each day in the lecture halls, think about how you can gain more knowledge. Work hard in your studies! Shape yourselves and your goals through work to achieve them! Dare to dream and use educational opportunities so that the realization of these dreams will better Albanian society in the future.In a democracy, it doesn’t matter where you come from, but where you’re going. Your long-term goals may sometimes seem very distant. But every long journey starts with a single step. Take that step confidently.We, as parents and society, are in your debt because perhaps we haven’t always done our best, but we did the best we could under the circumstances and with the abilities we had.Now it’s your turn, esteemed students, wherever you are, to pick up the baton and accomplish what we have not achieved so far.I also wish the academic staff a successful and fruitful start! Dedicate yourselves to your profession with passion and an open mind! Encourage critical thinking and adapt your teaching methods to active pedagogies!
