2 September 2020 President Meta: Albania supports the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine
President of the Republic, H.E. Ilir Meta received the Ambassador of Ukraine, H. E. Volodymyr Shkurov, on the occasion of the presentation of Letters of Credentials.
Welcoming and wishing success to the first Ambassador of Ukraine resident in Tirana, the Head of State stressed that “this is a historic event for the relations between our two countries.”
President Meta assured Ambassador Shkurov of Albania’s clear and unwavering position in defense of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence.
The Head of State assessed that the relations between the two countries are very good, emphasizing at the same time that there is room to develop them even more, especially in terms of economic and trade cooperation.
President Meta thanked the Ukrainian authorities for addressing issues related to the preservation and development of the national identity of the Albanian community in the Odessa region.
The Head of State also conveyed greetings to President Zelensky, as well as the desire to receive him for an official visit to Albania.
