President Begaj Meets with Senior Citizens, Acknowledging Their Contributions to Kavaja
“Emotions and pleasure come together today, in this special meeting with you, my fellow citizens.
I fondly remember my childhood and the joy brought by the ‘Besa’ team.
Kavajans are known for three things, I believe: faith in God, democracy, and football.”
President Bajram Begaj shared childhood memories with senior citizens during a luncheon he hosted for them as part of the end-of-year celebrations.
During the conversation with them, members of generations who have contributed in various social fields to the city, the President emphasized that such meetings should serve to bring the young closer to their parents and the generations that have left a mark on society.
“Today brings a different kind of excitement, unique because I am meeting with various intellectuals from different educational and cultural categories of our city. It is a recognition and appreciation for all your contributions over the years. I hope very much that this meeting will be a pleasant memory for all of us. Just as you have done with your parents, let us do the same for ours, to remember them, to honor and respect them, and to set an example for our children on how to treat their parents and grandparents.
Just as in December of his first year as President, when he visited the ‘Sefer Dervishi’ Home for the Elderly in Kavaja, today the Head of State expressed appreciation and gratitude for the contributions of previous generations, while reconfirming his commitment to stay close to the citizens.
“I promise you that together with the Mayor, Mr. Fisnik Qosja, we will do everything necessary to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Kavaja. Consider me one of you!”
